Chinese people the world over are celebrating Chinese Lunar New Year beginning today, 26th Jan, 2009. It is also known as Spring Festival as it is the first day of Spring. Today is an extremely auspicious day in the Chinese Lunar Calendar and most Chinese businesses have taken a few days off and will only reopen for business on another auspicious day; the fifth day of Chinese New Year.
Chinese New Year lasts for a total of fifteen days but for me, I am not taking any day off. I always believe that a web business should be operated 24 hours a day and if it could be an automated process then good for us, if not, we should get back to our customers in as short a time as possible, holiday or not.
I hope that this Year of the Earth Ox will bring blessings to all of us and that the economy will improve, even if only slightly, despite what astrologers and fortune tellers say.
