I watched a news feature recently on TV, though I have forgotten which channel it was or even the name of the programme which reported that retailers experienced lower holiday sales over the Thanksgiving - Christmas - New Year holiday. That's certainly expected, in view of the leaner economy where even young children are recycling their old toys for gifts by selling their toys for the cash to buy gifts for themselves or younger siblings.
On the other hand, although there are more online Sellers who experienced a higher rate of unpaid items, online retail is sort of recession proof. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, buying online, we get to avoid traffic jam, shoppers and cut down on miscellaneous costs that we incur whenever we go out of the house.
People will continue to shop, though lesser, but they will prefer to spend this money online. That's why it is important to evaluate our merchandise and offer what the majority of people are looking for.
