eBay has just launched a challenge to its sellers whereby participants are required to submit their business plans on how to grow US$25,000 doing business using eBay tools exclusively. There are four categories to choose from and two entries per category will be shortlisted. eBay members, buyers and sellers, would then vote on the best business plan per category. These four winners will each win a US$25,000 in business grants from Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. I have gone through the rules and unfortunately, this challenge is only open to legal residents of the United States AND eBay sellers of good standing. The problem, though, is that once you submit your business plan to eBay, the idea is basically theirs and they could do whatever they want, apply YOUR plans into growing eBay and winning back sellers.
I see this basically like Google's Project 10 to the 100th and although the magnitude isn't the same, there surely will be people jumping once this challenge closes. Errrr if you STILL would like to take a shot at US$25,000, that is if you are a legal resident of the fifty states of the United States and the District of Columbia, then good luck!
