My good friend will be welcoming a new baby at the end of the month. She is a first time parent so she has to buy everything but I told her that I am planning to get her some gifts that would be very useful in this new phase of her life.
Frankly, I don't really know what to get her since I have not bought gifts for new mothers before, though I have bought a personalized baby blanket before for a baby shower but that was a long time ago. Yes, she would still need a baby blanket but since it's not expensive, I think I'd let her get it herself.
My sister suggested I get a baby carrier. I think it's an excellent gift. My friend may not like using one at first but there are many health and emotional benefits promoted by the physical closeness of using baby carriers for both baby and adult. Yes, the more I think of it, the more I like it.
