It's unnerving to read about an eBay seller who has been trading on eBay for 14 years, with almost 12,000 positive feedback, suddenly had her ID changed to something else, and had her original ID handed to a retailer. I thought that once we have registered our user ID, it is ours to keep, unless we make that change ourselves.
eBay USA, which is where this seller registered her account, said they cannot do anything about it because this retailer, who now uses the ID is based in the UK and registered with eBay UK.
Of course, the retailer said they will revert their eBay user ID to their original one and want this given back to the old owner, which is the rightful thing to do.
