I read about a case of a woman who discovered that her credit card has been charged for a few small purchases, even though strangely, her credit card was still in her purse.
It isn't so strange, actually, because there are many ways to charge a card, and one doesn't necessarily have to have the physical card to make a charge. You just need the credit card number and the security code.
And of course, there are many ways that thieves and hackers can get ahold of these numbers, and sell them off, or shop for themselves.
