On 3rd June, 2007, I wrote about a media exchange company called BarterBee.com, and just a few days ago, I also wrote about a similar company called SwitchPlanet.com. It looks like this business model has taken the internet by storm. While it is a great idea to trade our old media for newer titles, is it that good? Are there that many people with unused books, CDs and DVDs sitting around the house collecting dust? Looks like there are!
Sometimes, it doesn't take a really complex business model to strike a gold mine. I mean, bartering has been the way of life of our forefathers right until somebody came up with money in the form of coins and then money notes. I think the next big internet thingy will also be something really basic implemented on the information superhighway. It is said that anything goes on the internet and I personally think it's the best thing after sliced bread.
It looks like they have a winner on their hands after eliminating transaction fees. Welcome to the internet world of Web Free.0.
