High Powered Laser Pens Banned On eBay & Amazon

Many years ago, I bought a couple of "laser pens" because I find them extremely useful when doing presentations in a darkened room. I could just point the light to bring the attention of my audience.

However, eBay and Amazon have decided to ban these laser pens from their marketplaces, particularly high powered ones. It is really a pity that people have been found to misuse something useful like laser pens but it is better to take these off from the marketplace before it is too late.

Out of curiosity, I ran a search on eBay to see if there are still any listings for laser pens and yes, there are still many that are above the safe level of 1mW. The common ones in the market right now are around 5mW but there are some as high as 240mW! One wonders what is taking eBay so long to just remove these listings once they have issued a ban.
