I guess this comes as good news for eBay shoppers who still have faith in PayPal. After years of negative feedback and complaints, PayPal has finally eased protection limit from £500 to £150 and comes with less restrictions to follow.
Previously, not only will a Buyer be protected for fraud on eBay if paying for purchases via PayPal up to a maximum of £500, the Buyer was also required to maintain a 98% positive feedback level. This means that if a Buyer purchased an expensive item above £500, he will not be able to recover his money beyond £500. If he has a positive feedback score of less than 98%, he would only be covered up to £150.
While the lowering of protection limit is better than nothing, I am still not satisfied. I think that every Buyer should be protected no matter the amount of a purchase that never arrived, and at the same time stop fraudulent activities on both sides of buying and selling.
