I found out that a niece of mine is working part time over the weekends to earn extra pocket money so that she could take up music lessons. While I personally think that she may be too old to learn, she is adamant that this is what she wants.
I pity her because she now has to juggle her studies and work, and later, music lessons.
I think I am going to get her a cheap glectric and acoustic guitar so that at least her burden is lessen.
I myself have no experience in musical instruments so I guess I will let her know my budget and ask her to select her own instrument. Yes, that would be better than buying one for her, and maybe getting one that she may not like. What do you think?

Better let her pay for her own instrument so that she will think twice if she wants to commit herself. Many kids (and adults too) start off with full steam and the steam goes out within few months.
