SuperBid Member-Get-Member

The other day, I blogged about Lelong's new service called Superbid. To promote SuperBid, or SuperBid Wednesday, Lelong has a Member-Get-Member promotion where each new member that you refer will give you an entry into a lucky draw to win RM100 cash. This basically means that the more people you refer, the better your chances of winning. There is a total of RM8000 cash to be won so there would be quite a handful of lucky people there.

I did check out SuperBid Wednesday last week, particularly their Member-Get-Memnber page and I have to say that I am pretty disappointed that we are still required to fill out a form with the email addresses of our contacts.

I would rather have the option to grab a banner and stick it on my blog and direct interested parties to sign up. This way, I would not be sending unsolicited email to people who may not be interested. Don't you agree?

Anyway, scrutinizing this banner above, "Affordable" is spelt "affortable". Poor thing :(

Zero Tolerance For Counterfeit Nokia Products

I was checking out the latest news and announcements on Lelong Forum this afternoon when I came across a warning issued by Nokia that they are aware that Nokia counterfeit products are being sold rampantly on Lelong auction marketplace.

Lelong meanwhile, has issued a statement saying that they are doing their best to remove items they believe to be counterfeited and do whatever they can to keep the situation under control.

I think that these people who are selling fake products, whether on Lelong or eBay or any other marketplace are giving the site a bad name, discrediting themselves and the place they trade and causing buyers to distrust shopping online, especially bidding on items in an open auction marketplace. Well, who could blame them when they are afraid that they will get scammed or conned, right?

When genuine buyers stay away, not only will the website suffer due to loss of traffic and revenue, real Sellers will also suffer the same as well. Therefore, the quicker Lelong and in fact, eBay, get rid of these fraudsters, the better it is for all of us.

Lelong's Save $, Go Online Lucky Draw

Hhmm I don't know if this is good news or bad news. Already people are trying hard not to spend money but Lelong s enticing us to shop with them to get a shot at winning cash prizes. For people who have the luck in such things, then it's a great opportunity but chances are slim for those who never have the luck for such things.

The good thing about this lucky draw, i think, is that there is no minimum spending so you can pretty much buy ANYTHING and be eligible to participate in the lucky draw.

If you check out their newsletter, you will notice a glaring typical Malaysian grammatical error, that is in "Women Clothing" when it should be "Women's Clothing". Oh well, Malaysian English, Malaysians sure can understand wan!
