It's the school holidays right now and all my friends who have school going children are pulling out their hair thinking of ways to keep their children occupied and entertained. The weather is so bad lately that they couldn't spend their days outdoors. Most of my friends tell me that all they are doing is to keep the children occupied with cartoons on TV and computer games.
I think that a good way to keep them occupied is to introduce them to ceramic projects. I used to play with clay a lot when I was younger but because I never had any proper lessons, I never made anything that could see the light of day.
Ceramic projects are inexpensive yet take up a lot of time and allow us to be as creative as we could be. Imagine, with a piece of clay dough, we are free to mold it into clay bodies or any other shape that we fancy.
If you are planning to make pottery, you would need to purchase electric wheels. It would also make a good investment if you are serious with your ceramic projects but no matter what projects you are planning to make, remember that for glazes, only lead free pottery glazes would do.
