Business Discussion Portal For Doctors

The other day, I came across a doctor-patient interactive website at www.med3q.com and I noticed that they have a section specifically for doctors only. Today, I have the pleasure to be introduced to BizRx.

I have a couple of doctor friends and one common problem they share is the lack of time to explore other things apart from medicine. They told me that with the easy access and availability of BizRx, they are able to learn business in an informal way that can be applied to their medical practice.

One thing to note is that BizRx is a portal for credentialed doctors ONLY. However, once they are registered with the site, they are able to fully utilise the features for free. Once a week, there will be a podcast interview with business experts. These podcasts are only 5 - 7 minutes long for easy listening and understanding, especially made to cater to the busy doctors.

The first interview on the site is with Linda Mounce of Alliance Bank. She specializes in doctor deals hence this first issue will be exceptionally useful to doctors. Subsequent episodes will be with other experts in the field of medical practice in a business point of view.

All podcast interviews will be archived so there is no worry about missing an episode. There really is nothing commercial about Med3q.com as there is nothing to buy or sell but it provides an informal environment for doctors to learn and discuss business.

MED3Q.COM LAUNCHES BizRx™:
THE PRESCRIPTION FOR HEALTHY PHYSICIAN PRACTICES

FORT WORTH, Texas (July 9, 2007) – One dose of BizRx™ a day keeps the doctor’s practice in good health.

BizRx, a new service at www.med3q.com that launches today, addresses common points of pain faced by busy doctors in the areas of business, practice management, patient relations, personal finance and much more.

Engaging and stimulating audio interviews with business experts are regularly served up at the site in 5-to-7 minute increments to doctors who have joined med3q. Membership in the health-focused social-networking site is free.

“I see tremendous potential for BizRx because practice management is such a huge issue,” says Dr. Ralph A. Gambardella, chairman of Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.

Credentialed med3q doctors can access fascinating interviews with successful business experts, presentations and other educational tools on the med3q site developed just for them.

The BizRx series will include topics of interest to physicians such as:
 Finance issues for doctor’s practices,
 Succession plans and exit strategies for doctors,
 What physicians need to know about medical malpractice and how to win at trial,
 Successful medical group integration, and
 The development and operation of physician-owned outpatient surgery centers and other facilities.

Bite-size and relevant, BizRx helps time-crunched doctors think through important, but too often neglected, aspects of their professional lives that affect the day-to-day management of their practice, revenue and profitability, wealth building, patient satisfaction, risk and more.

“Physicians have limited time to spend thinking about their businesses,” adds Dr. Darren Lackan, president of the Diabetes and Thyroid Center of Fort Worth. “We tend to focus on patient care and leave business matters to others. That’s why the expert advice offered in BizRx and other physicians’ comments in the med3q forums regarding what works in their practices is vital.”

Just Because Others Are Doing It

eBay and other similar marketplaces are very competitive markets. It is literally a dog eat dog world out there. There is a lot of jealousy creeping in and many ongoing witch hunting activities to kill off the competition. I have heard of many people bitching about so and so and that they are trying to catch people for any violation of eBay's term of service so that they will be banned from the marketplace. The lesser the competition, the bigger the pie. But that also effectively means, the less members, the less money is changing hands as well.

Although there are many people who complain to me about this and that, I never encourage such sentiments. Firstly, I believe that we are all on eBay and also Lelong for a purpose and that is to trade. We all would love to make some pocket money but that does not mean that we have to climb on top of another to get to the top, right?

However, a few of my colleagues are left stumped when they felt the burnt of eBay while others did not. Are these marketplaces being biased? I told my colleagues that since they know that they are being witch hunted, then they have to be alert and never let themselves be caught.

They cited examples of other Sellers who are doing exactly the same thing and showed me their sales page. Well, if one Seller is doing it wrong, does it make it right for others to do the same thing as well? No, I don't think so. However, I also do not believe in reporting these people for allegedly violating eBay's terms of use because to me, it's no big deal. If these Sellers are out there to attempt to scam people, then it is another issue altogether.

Oh well, it's said that bitches are born every minute. Let's put it down to our bad luck to encounter them. We just have to put our head down and continue working hard because we cannot stop people's eyes from turning red.

Interactive Video Advertising

A reader noticed me writing about a video streaming website earlier and told me about VideoClix, another online video streaming website that brings interactive advertisement to the internet surfer.

I tried it out just now on a bikini fashion show and as the video is being played, I could just click on a particular piece of bikini and get further information on the product with a short description and price. I then clicked on the small display window on the side and the website of the advertiser is opened in another window. I it so easy to navigate I did not even have to type in or copy a web address.

Video Clix has a host of clients showcasing their products in high quality videos and they are all taking interactive video advertising to another level. Whether you are into automobiles, the latest technology, music videos, sports, fashion or movies, check out the advertisements on Video Clix and be amazed at the amount of information you can get at the click of your mouse.

Retrieving Hotmail To Cell Phone

Well, Hotmail is one of my most used email account. I have been trying to configure my Nokia E61i to retrieve my Hotmail email but to no avail. I currently am using it to retrieve Gmail. So I thought I'd have my Hotmail forwarded to Gmail and read my Hotmail email from there, but it does not work.

I came across a couple of programs that are said to work but they are on a 30-day or 30-message trial. You know me, want to use free stuff only and although I would have free use for a while, I do not want to learn something only to not use it after the free trial is over, since I am unwilling to pay.

Does anybody have a solution? I know Hotmail does not support Pop3. Why oh why? Isn't it like standard feature now?

Will TriClear Be Our Solution?

You probably remember me mention about my poor skin condition that breaks out each time I feel stressed or do not have enough rest. Well, it certainly is a challenge to look good and feel confident of myself when my complexion is not up to par. It has been a continuous search for an answer to help me keep acne at bay. So far, there have been products that work, albeit for a short time only, and there have been products that do not work for me at all, although some people have vouched for them!

Do you know how much money is wasted on these acne treatment products?

I have just been introduced to TriClear. I am impressed with the Before and After shots on the website. According to the site, TriClear is a triple action acne eliminator that reduces the development of acne, clear blemishes and decreases the production of oil.

Unfortunately, the website only caters to buyers from the United States. My sister is there and I am going to ask her to try it out first since she is also suffering from acne, like me. Hopefully, she will let me know of the positive results. We are too old to suffer from acne and it’s high time we found a solution!

Self Discount

As an e-trader, I have the privilege to come across many different characters and there are good ones and there are bad. A few times, I have come across a handful of people who purposely made payment to me less than my invoice. For example, item plus shipping come up to MYR43 and they will cleverly send me MYR40 only. When questioned, they will say that MYR40 is easier to deposit that MYR43, which is true but then it is not the amount that I asked for.

People like these who give themselves a discount just make it difficult for me to close the deal. In the first place, I am already subsidizing shipping since I am making it easier for them not to send me any small change.

If they wanted convenience in payment, at least have the courtesy to discuss with me first, right? I may have a good solution for them if only they spoke up.

On the other hand, luckily there are people who send me more than necessary and told me to keep the change for their next purchase. I have the privilege to meet people like these too, though they are far and few between. Most would want it shipped together with the package if they have sent extra. I am not keen to send cash through the post though, so it is hard to abide by their request. Luckily I usually have something worked out for them too.

But the champions are still people who slash their own prices. It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round!

Get Paid For Your Video Product Reviews

I have seen many people doing product reviews on their blogs for quite sometime now and it is getting more and more popular. And I sometimes wonder, wouldn't it be great if we could view the review on video? Well, it looks like Bryan Chinella has this idea to and hence the birth of BuyorPass.com.

BuyorPass.com is a video review website that allows users to upload their review video on the site to share with other users. Each review page has the video, the text description, tags, video embed code and a summary of the product by the reviewer.

Streaming video product reviews like these are really useful to help people decide if they should buy or pass a certain product. They could then rate the usefulness of the review to help other users make a more informed choice.

That's not all though! BuyorPass.com compensates the reviewer with $2 for each minute of video that is posted by a reviewer. What a great way to earn a little something doing what we love! BuyorPass.com accepts reviews for just about any product so the next time you buy something, make sure to do a video review of your purchase first!

One Long Page

As an internet user, whether you are into affiliate/internet marketing or not, I am sure you have been bombarded once too often by internet marketing sale pages.

Did you realise that they are all in ONE page? And the link that you click will take you to the payment page. Now, I know that internet marketers engage in psychological game play. But where is the logic that we will be swayed to BUY whatever they are selling if they present the product to us in one long page?

I personally feel bored reading such long text and will normally never get to the bottom of the page and even if i do, I'll just be skimming through the page and reading all the bolded text and taking notice of the product and Price only and not the benefits of having the product

Well, maybe it's just me while everyone else would gobble up every single word of the internet marketer *shrug*

Earning From Reading Glasses

One of the most asked questions is what items are popular, in demand and easy to sell. To me, one must not only sell the items that are most popular but we must have a passion for the product itself.

If you like eyewear, perhaps items like sunglasses and reading glasses are what you should trade in. I know of a reliable
Wholesale Reading Glasses supplier who supports people who dream of going into business. You know, earning that extra money can be financially liberating.

CTS Wholesale Sunglasses, who is already well known for supplying sunglasses, also has a wide range of reading glasses at very low cost designed to help traders make the most profit. Check out their website to see for yourself the Wholesale Readers available where you can buy for as low as $18 per dozen or as high as $60 for three dozens.

Well, the choice is yours really, if you want to do something to help yourself or if you want to be chained to you job without guaranteed security.

Google User Experience Research

A couple of readers left me a note asking me for further information on the Google User Experience Research which I touched upon in an earlier post, eBay User Experience Research Panel.

Well, well, well, it is OK that people do not just Google for the information. I am so used to it already so I'll just provide the URL and all.

I wish I have registered to both the Google and eBay surveys but I have not and will not anytime soon because I can't spare the time to participate in these. They do pay, though, so you may want to try them out. It would be great to provide some feedback on their services and products. And get paid too!

And if you have tried either one of these research surveys, do share your experience. I would love to hear it! Thanks in advance.

Which Merchant Account Company Is Better?

I have often been asked if I know which are the most reasonable merchant processing companies. I can say that I have gone into disagreements with people on which company is good and which isn't. The important thing is that the company must be able to perform and deliver what we need at the lowest transaction rates possible.

I have had people coming to my store to test out my check out system and then tell me that their merchant account company is better while mine isn't good. While I appreciate their kindness, I don't have the need to change because I could accept credit cards now at a very low fee.

I think I have come to the point where as long as I am using a different credit card processor, we have to agree to disagree that one company is better over another. I am of the logic that I don't mine paying a little extra AS LONG AS my company does not let me down.

Do I Have To Get A DiGi Prepaid?

If you are a frequent user of Lelong, you would have seen something called B1d Dat. Well, I have seen it almost everyday. Today, out of curiosity, I clicked on the banner and it to me to the website of a mobile bidding marketplace powered by Lelong and supported by DiGi.

Whoa, I must say that they are having really great auctions running at fantastically low bid prices with one day to close. I wonder what prices they will end up with. I am really interested to find out and will keep tab of these auctions.

Just imaging that a Esprit Ladies Watch Macra Black is at MYR16 only, Adidas Mens Sport Watch at MYR20, Swatch Ruby Touch - Swiss Made at MYR28 and Apple iPod Nano 2GB silver at MYR82 among a list of other exciting items.

From the FAQ, it seems that these products are being put on auction by DiGi itself and Lelong will be the one doing the "dirty" work. I wonder how popular this service is. The less popular it is, the better it is for bidders who actually dare to test the service out while it is in its infancy, teething problems and all. This will mean bidders will have the chance to get some great products are ultra low prices. Unless some price jacker comes along LOL

If prices remain low, perhaps it's time for me to get a DiGi Prepaid line!

Lori Jaclyn's Mod Jewelry Promotion

I came across Mod Jewelry online store just now and thought I'd share it because the designer is currently running a promotion where if we buy two items we will get a third item for free.

Mod Jewelry by Lori Jaclyn is uniquely handcrafted and no two pieces will ever be the same. Moreover, Lori accepts custom orders so if you have an idea or a favorite color, you can discuss it with Lori.

You know, I always have some whacky ideas in my head and then I go like, "If I could do it my way, it would be like this, and not like that." but I never got around to it because I am not creative at all. Now that I know of Lori Jaclyn's specialty, I know who to look for the next time an idea pops up in my head.

This is one of Lori's available costume jewelry pieces that I like. It's called the Pink Slip. What do you think?

Lori ships from Canada and she says that shipping to everywhere is $3. I presume this is normal shipping but I am not sure if that is sufficient to cover the shipping cost to Malaysia. I am an online Seller so I know how expensive international shipping could get!

Why Is Malaysia Excluded?

I may have mentioned before that I am a member of Auctiva. Well, I recently received a mail from them with the good news that they have just updated their shipping insurance and allow their members who are using Auctiva shipping to be more competitive by passing the savings on insurance to their Buyers.

All is well and good but can anyone tell me why is Malaysia in the list that Auctiva does not provide insurance on items that are shipped to? Do we have that bad a reputation or are our Customs too difficult or whatever? I really want to know the answer.

Anyway, if you need to insure your domestic or international packages, check our Auctiva's rates. They have a comparison chart and you can actually calculate how much you save using Auctiva compared to USPS.

Check out Auctiva's Shipping Insurance Comparison Chart HERE.

Fashion In Medical Uniforms

I was randomly surfing when I came across an online store that sells exclusively Medical Uniforms and scrubs. I had thought that all such uniforms come in plain boring colors only but I am wrong. It is surprising indeed to see them in very colorful prints which I am sure patients would appreciate having some color in medical offices. I as a visitor also feel colorless in there, let alone patients who have to spend days inside.

Scrubs Gallery is a very simplistic online store that is very easy to navigate. I could browse by category and I filtered my search. I was happy to see that it is very user-friendly and without any frills. Stores like these are so refreshing.

I like their tagline: Your total online uniform boutique. Yes, who says medical uniforms can't be fashionable too? If I have a say, I’d make all doctors, nurses and other medical staff dump their old uniforms for these!

What's Missing?

For the past month, I felt something missing but could not pinpoint it. Call me blur but it's not as if I think about it the whole time. It's just that something that used to happen every day has stopped happening. It's the feeling that's hard to describe but I am sure you know what I am saying.

Today, it finally dawn on me. It's the Lelong email alerts that we receive when we have a winning bidder or if the auction ended without a winner. Have they changed their alert function to only send the mail out to auctions that closed successfully? I don't know.

Previously, I was using my Hotmail account with Lelong. I faced this problem and was advised to change to another email address, which I did, to GMail. All was fine after that but now, even with GMail, the email aren't coming in from Lelong, except for the promotional newsletter.

Now, it's not that I need these alert since most of my items on Lelong are FOR SALE but then it's good reminder to myself to hop over to Lelong to relist my items. Without these emails, I wouldn't remember when my listing items end!

Insurance Explained

As you know, I am trying to buy my very first insurance and I am confused by the various policies. What do each cover? Surely they are different, otherwise why the different names like life and term life insurance?

I have a few friends who are insurance agents and well, they don't want to entertainment me because I ask too may questions! They think I am not serious but I really am considering it, at least I would be able to get tax relief, that's what I have been told.

Sometimes, I feel that it is better to depend on myself to find the information I want. I am not going to ask them anymore, and neither am I going to buy from them once I have decided on a policy.

I went online to check various insurance sites but most got me even more confused. Do I sound like a dumb blonde? I suggest that insurance company please explain everything in plain everyday English, so that people like me who are not in the field, who have not bought insurance before, and have no one to answer our questions, could obtain the information online and understand and digest the subject easily.

One such site that I found explaining insurance in everyday language is
America Direct. Not only that, they have a Quick College where they discuss why it is important to get covered, why just employee insurance is not enough, how to apply for and purchase life insurance, what happens when the policy holder dies, among a host of other questions, concerns and doubts.

What I find comfortable with America Direct is that the company is not out to sell insurance but to educate and share knowledge. Oh yeah, if you have ever been confused by insurance terms that your agent throws at you, check out the definitions from American Direct.

Seriously, from surfing the site for thirty minutes, I gained more information than spending an hour with my insurance agent friends, and I am the one who always have to pick up the bill! Bahhh! Not fair!

eBay User Experience Research Panel

The other day, I was reading a forum and I came across a call by Google to have Google users sign up for their surveys so that they could improve the suit of Google products. There are three options to participate; by going to the Google office, by participating in group discussions online, have Google staff visit the user and by answering surveys. I think I have them covered because I am typing this from memory.

Today, I came across a similar user experience survey from eBay. Well, they used to call it eBay Consumer Panel. Actually, are we "consumers"? Users or Members should be better word choices, don't you think so?

Anyway, for those who are interested to participate, you can sign up at the Research Panel Page and like Google, you will have the same options to participate in the research. If you are selected, you will be paid $50 or more for your feedback.

If you do join and are selected to participate in their research studies, do let me know your experience!

To Move Or Not To Move?

A friend of mine has been considering moving to an apartment for a long time now. I am not sure what is stopping her though she mentioned that she is not sure if she will be comfortable living in close proximity with her neighbors. Well, I certainly understand what she means. Neighbors can be nosy people sometimes.

Even so, she has already checked out her options and did some research online, especially on ApartmentGuide.com where she used to locate an apartment. She said that ApartmentGuide.com has a wealth of information on apartment living from renting one to moving into one.

So my friend really does have plans on moving to an apartment and the only question is WHEN. She knows it will be very different from living in a house. For one, there will be no garden for the kids to play in or for her parents to exercise in. So this decision is not for one person. She has her family to consider and would have to seek their opinion on moving to an apartment.

Celcom Survey

Yesterday, I received a phone call from Celcom. The lady caller wanted to conduct a survey for Celcom and asked if I could spare her 8 - 10 minutes so I agreed to it. She was ever so polite. Moreover, I didn't want to make her work for nothing. I understand how things are for these people.

So she asked me a few questions like my name, age and location and then proceeded with very simple questions like how do I like the service provided thus far, did I use another service prior to Celcom, what do I think of the old service, am I still using them, why did I chose Celcom, how can Celcom improve and a list of other questions along this line.

While I did not have any complaints for Celcom's voice call service or even their customer service, I did let the lady know that I am far from happy with my 3G service. I told her that I have crappy signal and that Celcom needs to buck up on the signal strength to my area. I hope they will take note of my feedback!

At the end of it, the whole survey took less than five minutes. Wow, that was fast.

Total Solutions By AMS Fulfillment

A good friend of mine works in the logistics and warehousing field. You probably would have read my previous posts on the problems he faced. He told me that his company refuses to allocate any budget on building their own warehouse but rather rent out from warehouse owners. He says it frustrates him because since the warehouse is rented his company is not placing too much security features on the warehouse. Why? They don't want to spend extra on rented property!

In any case, my friend has done some research on other warehousing and
product fulfillment services company and he said that there is only one company in the United States that is offering OnGuard Inventory Protection™. My friend says that this company, AMS Fulfillment, is very forward looking to provide such safeguard for inventory management because in time to come, this is the standard feature that clients will be looking for.

According to him, if his company could offer what AMS Fulfillment is offering, then he would not have to lose so many potential clients. AMS, on the other hand, offers solutions to B2B and B2C clients with a full suite of warehousing, logistics and distribution facilities.

My friend says that he will be using AMS Fulfillment as an example of a company with total warehousing solutions in the next Board meeting and hopefully, his Directors will finally see the light.

Everyday Low Prices

Have you ever wondered about when Hypermarkets, especially, tout their everyday low prices, will there come a day when the prices get lower and lower that the goods will be free finally one day?

Well, call me weird but I have thought of that and wondered if the day will ever come. Of course I know that what they mean about everyday low prices are that their prices are lower for selected items and they have lists of products that they rotate so that they have good baits for their shoppers every day.

Despite their every day low prices, hypermarkets in my hometown are not doing that well. For the past year, a few have been taken over by other companies who are in the same business. What does this mean to us consumers? Monopolization! And so wherever you go, you'll be getting the same goods at the same price.

Oh yeah, Cold Storage is back again but I haven't the time to check it out yet. The location they have selected is rather convenient but I wonder why previous hypermarkets have not survived. As far as I remember, Cold Storage is the fifth tenant or so.

I hope I have the chance to check it out before it changes management!

Taking Tiny Steps To Financial Freedom

As the cost of living rises with every national budget, it is becoming more and more important for us to learn how to manage our finances and keep our books balanced. I find that since credit cards became popular and play a major role in our daily living, more and more people have gone into debt. Most people I know are trying to get out of debt that was from credit cards. It IS shocking to know that people in their twenties are already in debt!

You know, a lot of my friends are in bad financial shape that they can’t even
help with bills or service their rent. They still have to rely on their parents even though they are already working adults. In some cases, their parents required mortgage help to make ends meet.

Coincidentally, I came across Bills.com some time back, which is a consumer finance portal that is free to use. Everyone should check the site out because this resource site has many useful articles that could help us get back into financial shape. Even if all is rosy for you, there is no harm gaining some knowledge from Bills.com!

OMG! Boy Finds $88,000 in eBay Game

I have heard of people finding a small fortune from buying stuff in flea market, either there's cash stuffed inside, or the valuable item was sold cheaply by the owner who did not know better but this is really grand.

Can you imagine paying only $190 in exchange for the game PLUS $88,000 cash? The mind boggles. I wonder if this had happened in Malaysia (as if it ever would haha!), would the Buyer be so kind as to call the police in?

I bet Malaysians, if we are this lucky, would have gone on a shopping spree even if it's "only" MYR88,000. Just simply.. WOW!

Moral of the story: SHOP ONLINE MORE!!!

La Senza's Semi-Annual Knockout Sale

I received an email yesterday from La Senza on their semi annual knockout sale and I was nearly knocked out by their poster. I have always enjoyed La Senza's email because I think they are classy, much like flipping through a glossy magazine.

I too have viewed many from Victoria's Secret before but somehow VS pales in comparison in the poster design department. La Senza's posters, on the other hand, have a very striking colour contrast which I find attention grabbing.

By the way, I still have Victoria's Secret freebies to giveaway. Just meet the very basic requirement and they are yours! Drop by my WebStore some time for further details. You never know, I may evn decide to give them away totally free.

Gourmet Gift Baskets For All Occasions

One of my buyers sent me an urgent message last night. He has forgotten that this weekend is his one year anniversary with his girlfriend. You know how girls are. They expect the guys to remember every little detail of their courtship. So suddenly this guy finally got the hint and was desperate to look for a gift at such short notice.

Coincidentally, I was surfing the net last night looking for gifts as well and came across an online store with exquisite gourmet gift baskets which I am 100% sure all girls would love to receive. I told him to check it out as the prices are reasonable and would suit most people's budget.

This website also offers such a wide range of original gourmet gift baskets for any occasion at all. Although I was looking for a basket as a birthday gift, there will also be one that will be appropriate for my Buyer's first anniversary.

Lowest Fixed Mortgage Rates In California

Even though I am not bogged down by a home loan right now, I am always worried if I will get caught in high mortgage rates. I know part of it is timing of taking out the mortgage depending on external factors like supply and demand. While I currently have no plans to take out any Mortgage Loans, I do try to keep in the loop by surfing the internet and reading various websites.

I came across a company, Good Borrower, which lends directly to the home buyer without going through a middleman. There isn't a need to pay for lender fees or even application fees because Good Borrower has made it so hassle-free for the home buyer that the mortgage could also be closed at home.

What makes Good Borrower different is they value our good credit score by providing one of the lowest fixed Mortgage Rates. Hey if you worked hard to achieve a minimum of 700, you surely deserve the lowest mortgage rate you can get!

Currently, Good Borrower is only available for residents of California. Even though I do not qualify, I know of a couple of friends out there whom I know would surely welcome my discovery. According to the website, 90% of their borrowers are repeat customers. The high percentage surely speaks for the company!

$15 For A Diamond Ring

I was randomly surfing eBay when I chanced upon the profile of a Seller who has three neutrals. The rest were positive ratings. So I got curious why he/she was given neutral. This Seller sells very cheap rings though he/she compensated for that with extremely high shipping and handling fees.

I thought that the three neutrals would be from Buyers who felt cheated by the exorbitant S&H but to my surprise, one place the remark "While the ring is not ugly, it is NOT diamond."

Like I mentioned, this Seller sells very cheap rings, under a dollar. The item that was won by this particular buyer closed at $15. You know, I am pretty surprised that Buyer though that he/she bought a diamond ring for $15 ONLY.

No doubt eBay is a junk yard marketplace where one could find all sorts of knick knacks at ultra low prices. I really have to hand it to this ignorant Buyer who thought that he/she won a diamond ring for $15. Really, you can't win them over all the time.

I mean what does the Buyer expect to get for $15? Obviously a diamond ring!

Live Web-TV On PriceForSure.com

Not too long ago, I wrote a post about video marketing that is slowly creeping into websites. It is hard to find a sales and marketing site WITHOUT a video nowadays because marketers are becoming aware that being interactive with the shopper is important and could influence someone to make the BUY decision.

Part of my homework is to visit shopping sites and particularly price comparison sites and just now, I was surprised to see
PriceForSure.com offering live web TV and I must say, I am pretty impressed. It did make me stay longer at the site because I watched the video first and then browse the site.

PriceForSure.com accepts even home made videos from people who are looking to market their products with videos and their team will edit the video footage and turn it into a professional shooting, all for a a very low cost.

It is said that by using video, the marketer is able to bring across much more information in a shorter time period that using text or images. Videos on the internet are like advertisements on TV. Some of us just love watching them, don't we?

PriceForSure.com is capitalizing on this phenomenon and offering advertisers amazing value with their live Web TV, product videos and video player ticker message. If you want to try out new media advertising, you should try video advertising just like what is being offered by PriceForSure.com

Please Vote For My Friend!

Last night, I received a message from my friend and fellow Lelong trader, Alan Cheah. His photo has been shortlisted in a Cathay Pacific contest, "100 Reasons We Love Hong Kong". He needs our votes to hit the top 100.

Can you help?

Please visit THIS LINK and you will see the page above. TICK the little box to your right. Click on PREVIEW and you will be asked to fill out the form with your personal particulars. Each person can only vote once but you can vote for a maximum of ten entries.

For me, I only voted on one entry, Alan's. So if you are kind enough, do drop him a vote. We are grateful for your kind support!

Viable Real World Business Opportunity

A couple of my friends have been having a hard time at work AGAIN. Once this happens, they again will think of ways where they are not so dependent on their jobs. However, once the job gets cushy, they forget about their dreams of running their own business. It happens every time!

This time, I tell them not to think anymore but to act on their ideas. I have previously given them a few ideas of things that are in demand on auction sites but they are not so keen on an internet business. Coincidentally, I came across a company last night, called vendstar which is currently the leading manufacturer in bulk candy vending machines in the United States.

I am sure most of us would remember the fun we had putting a coin in and the vending machine would dispense candy, gumballs, capsule toys and a whole range of things that fascinate the young mind.

Since my friends prefer real world business and not a virtual one like mine, I think this vending machine business is a viable option for them. It's a cash business with unlimited profits. What do you think?

Strange Auction On My Sales Page

I just logged into my Lelong Sales page and received a surprise. I thought there was an error when I saw an unfamiliar item on auction on MY sales page. I wondered for a moment, "Eh, when did I ever have a Nokia N95 / N93 for auction?

So I got curious and clicked on the link and I saw this.

I thought, this must be a mistake and wanted to write to Support to report this bug but upon further reading, I came across this warning from Lelong Support.

Ah... this is one way of Lelong to let people know the scams that happen around the marketplace. Now and then, Lelong Support will list an item on the marketplace to alert people about scams that are happening. I remember them posting an auction a long time ago but it was an announcement regarding fraud bank accounts.

What an innovative way to grab our attention. I surely was made to read this notice!

Cannot Sell But Can Transfer

A friend of mine was in financial distress earlier this year. He was trying to come up with some money but after borrowing from friends and family and taking out a loan against his credit card and overdraft, he was still short of funds.

He told me that he has annuity which he would like to cash out but I think it is not possible for him to sell annuity like that. My friend subsequently managed to get a short term loan from loan sharks.

Last night, I came across an article on annuity and it says that it is sometimes illegal to sell annuity BUT one could get the rights to the annuity TRANSFERRED for a sum of money.

So in my friend's case, he may not be able to sell his annuity but he could get it transferred, and then he would not have to take out a short term loan from loan sharks and pay an exorbitant interest rate.

I am definitely going to let my friend know about this so that he has a new option should he need some cash on hand.

The Blog Connection

Let's see... I've kept this blog for 20 months now and over the course of time, I have had people asking me if I am so and so and I am always pleasantly surprised that people whom I have lost touch with for some years are able to locate me on the world wide web.

Is the online world so small? Just like the world we live in, just when you are dying to find somebody, the world seems so huge but when you don't want to meet someone, you keep bumping into him or her. Have you ever felt so before?

I have... many times indeed!

It is a wonder that despite the low profile that I keep as a blogger, a few days ago, a friend that I met in a chat room about four years ago, came across my blog while blog hopping and dropped me a surprise comment.

We not so much as lost touch for two years but more like failed to keep in touch. I am guilty of losing touch with friends all the time as I get bogged down with work and responsibilities.

You bet I was pleasantly surprised to receive a message like that and I am glad that now we are back in contact. See what blogs can do?

Hassle Free Online Shopping

I've been asked rather often why I don't sell a wider range of bras. Well, the problem with selling bras is that they come in too many sizes. While I could bring in the most common sizes, I would have potential buyers asking for some other size which I DO NOT HAVE! It is frustrating for both the buyer and I. I do want to meet the buyer's demands but being a small time trader, it is not possible.

There are times that I redirect my potential buyers to online stores and I even offered to help them pay for their purchases because not everyone has a credit card. Recently, one lady was looking for Prima Donna Bras. She has been told that Prima Donna lingerie is very comfortable and can withstand multiple wash and wear and that definitely is value for money. Unfortunately, I do not have this brand name in stock, so I told her where she could buy then from.

Shopping online is such a joy, isn’t it? What she could not find on my store, she found on Bits of Lace with just a mouse click!

The Popularity of Retirement Communities

I was surfing the internet recently and came across an article which says that overall, people are living longer and living healthy due to the advancement of medical facilities and technology.

So it was no surprise when I came to know of the popularity of retirement communities where at least one family member has to be over 55 years old. Oh both my parents are over 55 and they should find living in retirement communities so much more convenient and fun to socialize with people their generation.

Also, homes in retirement communities are built to suit senior living. I think this is very important because as people live longer, they will find these facilities useful. I have always thought that I should have the house renovated to accommodate to senior citizens but if we totally move into one of these retirement communities, it would save all the trouble, wouldn't it?

Shopping For Affordable Health Insurance

As health and medical cost continue to rise, I received a scare recently when my sister told me that she paid US$300 for a doctor's visit. That is like MYR1000 over here, almost my whole monthly pay check!

Although my sister has insurance, she said that her doctor was not on the panel and that means, she has wasted her money on insurance because she ended up not being covered by it and had to pay from her own pocket.

My sister said that she is looking for a new low cost health insurance. Coincidentally, I stumbled upon a website where she could get her low cost insurance quote by just filling out a form. This website is able to provide low cost quotes for any type of insurance in all 50 states in America.

I think it is very convenient to get a quote online like this and my sister would be able to get the best quotes and compare their benefits. She doesn’t even need to flip through the Yellow Pages and make phone calls to the many local insurance companies. Isn’t that such a waste of time and resources?

My sister said that she has never tried comparison insurance shopping before but is surely open to it, since she could easily save up to 40% or more.

Welcome Members of China Smile Forum

A reader tipped me off about my post appearing on a forum called China Smile. For the life of me, I have never heard of this forum before but then this member of the forum posted my blog post in its entity on the thread.

Ok, I can't read Chinese and I don't know what he/she says but he republished my sponsored post there together with the name of one of the companies that I write for. Err... this is not right because this person thinks that the post was from this company, which is not!

I need to get someone to translate the thread for me. I was chatting with my sister this morning but I totally forgot to show her this thread. She knows Chinese and would be able to let me know honestly what they are talking about.

Hmmmppphh my friend, Chris, would definitely not be pleased. He doesn't know Chinese as well. Oh, the bane of the banana people!

Earn A Little Extra With Online Trading

A couple of friends were thinking of going into etrading as well. While I am only a small timer, I understand that the little extra we earn selling things online is helpful and the feeling of success, albeit a small one, is exhilarating.

We have discussed the things that are hot on the internet and found that replica products are actually one of the best sellers. As an etrader, one of the things I consider before procuring is the ease in shipping. I told my friends that
Sunglasses seems like good products to sell.

Moreover, I know of a Wholesale Sunglasses company which is very supportive of people who take the first step in selling online. They have helped many new sellers before until they found their feet.

While some people may think that replica sunglasses are "cheap", ell, many Buyers like to have the fashion without spending too much. Moreover, the profit margin is wider for the Seller than selling branded sunglasses. If you have been thinking of earning a little extra, why not try going into online selling?

Whoa! 500% Growth in 30 Days!

On 3rd June, 2007, I wrote about a media exchange company called BarterBee.com, and just a few days ago, I also wrote about a similar company called SwitchPlanet.com. It looks like this business model has taken the internet by storm. While it is a great idea to trade our old media for newer titles, is it that good? Are there that many people with unused books, CDs and DVDs sitting around the house collecting dust? Looks like there are!

Sometimes, it doesn't take a really complex business model to strike a gold mine. I mean, bartering has been the way of life of our forefathers right until somebody came up with money in the form of coins and then money notes. I think the next big internet thingy will also be something really basic implemented on the information superhighway. It is said that anything goes on the internet and I personally think it's the best thing after sliced bread.

It looks like they have a winner on their hands after eliminating transaction fees. Welcome to the internet world of Web Free.0.

Virtual Ground For Landlords and Renters

Anybody who owns property that they rent out would have a couple of horror stories to tell. I know of cases where the tenant refused to pay rental and harass the landlady by calling her up in the middle of the night, and then there was a case where the tenant has this sickness of collecting rubbish and treated the rented house like a huge rubbish dump.

Actually, there are a host of other stories that really puts ff the idea of renting out our precious property. But then there is a website like Rentals.com which seres as an online meeting ground for both rental owners and potential tenants.

Surfing through the site is really easy. To start, just select a state by clicking on the large map to America. Renters could search for family homes to rent or vacation homes and there are various themes to select from, like gold, mountain, beach, family, wedding and pet friendly. I love it that all these are displayed with a huge clickable graphic. I wouldn't want to waste time reading all the fine text on the side bar.

As for landlords, they have to pay a little money to list their rentals on Rentals.com. There are three packages; Standard ($39), Featured ($59) and Premier ($99). These are monthly rates and even the Standard package comes with a wealth of features except that the ad listing is less prominent!

I love it that landlords are allowed to upload an unlimited number of images and there are virtual tours provided for the property as well as the integration of Google maps and directions. Each property listing has its own unique URL so the landlord could also email potential rentals this URL to view the images or take a virtual tour.

In short, I think Rentals.com has managed to achieve what it has set out to do - to cut down on the middleman and allow landlords and renters to deal directly.

New Web Directory

I haven't been writing all that much recently. I don't know why, maybe I'm tired or lazy or lack the motivation but I have something different to do which is to submit my blog to a few online directories. I have meant to do this for the longest time. So far, I have submitted to quite a few but that was when I first started this blog and everything was so fresh and new and exciting. Then I was too busy blogging and did not have time to continue spreading the word.

Anyway, a couple of days ago, I discovered a new web directory. Like I said, it's new and only have a handful of blogs. I am not sure if this directory accepts website submissions or not, but I submitted my blog and it has been accepted without issue.

The web directory is called Link The Planet and I think to have a directory befit the name, it should list submissions according to countries instead of by categories. In any case, I hope that my homework last night would gain me some extra exposure.

Ensuring The Safety Of All At Sea

My friend, Chris, owns a boat which his customers will charter to go fishing in the summer. Chris will captain the boat and with his crew, takes his "guests" out to sea to fish. Christ told me that there are many types of people who have chartered his boat before. Some are really into fishing as a sport, some just wanted a weekend out to the sea for a break without any day-to-day distractions and some go on a romantic rendezvous on the pretext of going fishing.

In any case, Chris said that once guests are on his boat, their safety is in his hands and he has to ensure that they all come back to shore safely and with a memorable experience.

He said that each time before going out to sea, he will have plenty of things to prepare like making sure there is enough food, water and supplies, fishing equipment and most important of all, make sure that his boat insurance coverage is still valid. He said that as the owner and the captain of the boat, it is his sole responsibility to take care of his crew and guests as well as the boat.

It sounds like a heavy responsibility, doesn't it? However, Chris says he is enjoying every minute of it and can't wait for next summer to start now that this one is going to be over soon! Time sure flies when one is having fun!

Be Cheered By Colorful Printed Medical Scrubs

I came to know of an online store which I think is very cute. At first glace, it looks like a store that sells apparels but it actually sells medical uniforms, lab coats and other accessories for people who work in medical offices and laboratories.

The colorful
Disney Scrub Tops caught my eye and I believe with uniforms like these, the whole dreary environment of the medical offices will surely be cheered up.

There is also a whole range of animal print scrubs that are specially for veterinary offices. I've been in an out of one too much lately and having these worn by the staff would surely bring a smile to many of us.

I'm sure by now we all know that the most important aspect of an online store is its ease in check out. I know of some people who would rather abandon a purchase because of feeling frustrated and not understanding the check out process. Well, there was no such problem with Uniform Country as far as I could see.

This store is rather different from many online stores that I have visited. By just hovering my mouse over any scrub, I have an enlarged view of the product. This just saves my time from clicking on each product and allowing the images to load. This is an advantage to people who do not have access to high speed internet connection. I like it.

And I certainly would let my vet know that he does not need to have plain white scrubs only!

A Whole Lotsa Lingerie

It's funny, I never really calculated how much money I have spent on procuring stocks for my lingerie business because I go by consignment and calculate my profit also on a consignment basis so I never actually calculated my total cost vs. total profit since the first day I ventured into etrading, selling primarily lingerie.

Sure, I could just bring out my books and add them all up in the two separate columns but who has the time, as long as the books are balanced and it's not in the red, right?

Anyway, I came across this blog extravaganza where the lucky winner will walk away with $2500 in a sweepstakes and it got me thinking, it sure could buy me lots of lingerie stocks for my store if I win it.

Over at Ashwin’s blog, you will find one crazy blog owner!! You can win $2500!! To enter just copy this text and paste it in your blog!! But hurry, this competition will not last long! So get posting!

If I don't win, at least I tried! Good luck, everybody! Woooo *banana dance*

Hassle-free Way To Buy Your Used Car

I just came across a website for Used Cars in the United Kingdom. It is a site like no other I have ever seen in terms of features and search filters. I have been told that this is like an online dating agency, except that this site serves to match potential car buyer with their dream cars, albeit used ones.

What impresses me most is the very low listing cost despite having all the features. While the cheapest to list a car is GBP2.45 for two weeks of listing with a photo, premium listing is only GBP4.95 and for this price, the seller is able to upload four photos and list the car until it is sold. Isn't it amazing that it is ONLY GBP4.95? This would be the perfect package for people with car models that are not so in demand or higher priced cars.

Although some people will think that they rather sell their used cars via agents to avoid any hassle, it is really better to utilise services like BuyYourCar because the cost of selling is so low and the Seller can keep the selling price low as well because agents will only mark up the price and makes it harder to sell.

Each seller will be assigned an individual listing page apart from the one in the general listing. In this page, potential buyers will be able to contact the Seller directly via the online enquiry form, view the location of the car via an interactive location map, apply for a car loan or compare car insurance.

Buying a car, especially a used car, has never been this easy!

Additional Documents, Additional Expenses

Recently, I had to courier some documents to the United States and it cost me over MYR70. I am fine with the high cost because of its speed. If I wanted fast and secure delivery, I am prepared to pay for it.

After I sent out my documents, my recipient to me that my documents were incomplete and I would have to send additional documents over by fax.

I was like WTH? If he had told me earlier what were actually required, then I could have sent them all over by courier. My earlier package did not even hit 250grqams and there were plenty of room for that new stack of documents.

But no, now I have to fork out additional cost of the fax which is also all right for ten extra pages, but the problem is I have to apply from respective companies for these documents and this takes time for the documents to reach me. If I had known about it, I would have applied for them earlier and got my required documents completely way before today and send them all in one package without the additional fax charges *sigh*

Switch Your Old Media With New For Free

I previously wrote about a good way to trade your used media like CDs, DVDs and books. This seems to be the way to go currently. Over the weekend, I heard of the launch of a new website at SwitchPlanet.com which is offering this same service to members. Previously Switch Planet was in beta and only a selected group of people were able to try out the site but now that the site is ready and open, every one can register for a free account.

After registration, members have to create a profile and list out the items that they would like to trade. Navigation of the site is fairly easy once you know where the buttons are. Search the site or check media categories like CDs, DVDs, Games or Books or browse Most Wanted, Most Switched, Most Available or Newest. Under each category, items are listed according to genre so it's fairly easy to zero in to the items that you are looking for.

For each title, you can see the number of copies that are available for switching and the number of people who are looking for it. While it is free to trade off your items, Switch Planet has its own internal currency. Once your item is safely delivered to the member who requested it, your listed price is credited into your account in SwitchBucs.

You can then shop with your SwitchBucs. If you do not have enough SwitchBucs, you can still get what you want by charging your credit card. That means you will be topping up the balance with cash. Still, it would be cheaper than buying the item from the shop.

I am sure that anyone who loves to watch movies, listen to music and read, has lots of used media sitting on the shelves. This is the perfect way exchanged used for newer titles for almost free.

Selling Leads In Any Vertical

Leads are very important in any business. I have known of companies which pay premium prices for lead, depending on the percentage of positive conversions. I have previously come across companies like AIMpromote which helps companies to focus on sales with their cost-competitive and user-friendly CRM software. Oh yes, if you do not already know, AIMpromote is the leader in on-demand lead management company that most businesses and enterprises whoa are involved in sales and marketing would have heard of.

AIMpromote has recently launched a new lead management CRM software. This software is especially important to lead aggregation companies because from only one software, these companies, which generate leads and then sell them to their clients, are able to sell any type of leads automatically and multiple times, manage the accounting of the entire set up, render Return On Investment reports and all their leads or campaigns.

If that is not all, this new AIMpromote's full-fledged automated CRM software has the ability to allow lead aggregators to sell leads before and after that would help their clients improve on business intelligence besides increasing their conversion rate and sales volume.

Working in a business entity in real life, I have had the opportunity to discuss about what AIMpromote offers with a few key management people in lead aggregation companies. According to them, compared to other companies that are offering the same service, AIMpromote is a very useful and cost-effective solution for them. Being in the industry, I am sure they know what they are talking about!

Spammed By New Auction Marketplace

A couple of days ago, I received an email from people from a new auction platform. I would call it spam because it was unsolicited and I was sent that email via Lelong's Contact Seller feature. Now, I think it is very unscrupulous for a competitor site to come and contact members of a community this way and I do not take too kindly to such actions. I could report them to Lelong except that I would like to give them a second chance.

So this company is touting their marketplace, supposedly Malaysia's NEW Online Classifieds and Auction site. To promote their website, every feature is free on the site. There are no charges at all. Yes, I did check the site out but I did not register because traffic is too low and it is not worth the amount of work setting up my For Sale listings. Ahhh when traffic picks up, I am sure fees will start to creep in. IF they survive that long, that is!

While I understand that they are trying ti build their community, I feel that what they did with contacting me and I am sure many other members via Lelong's Contact Seller function, is a cheap shot. If they want to bring in more traffic, by all means advertise their site and pay for it!

The Cover Guy Store

My sister told me that living in the United States is so very different from live back home. She has been exposed to the western culture and one of them is the hot tub or spa. Well, we would be hard pressed to find one in a Malaysian home!

My sister, who has her home built recently, also installed a hot tub because according to her, that is standard feature. She said that because the hot tub is really seasonal, she has to buy Hot Tub Covers to cover it when not in use. She has bought a cheap one before and it did not last long.

Her colleague tells her that The Cover Guy has one of the most durable covers with great prices too. She told me to help her check out the online store which I did.

The Cover Guy specializes in hot tub or spa covers. They are currently having a July promotion where orders are eligible for free shipping within the United States plus they mentioned that an order "today" would come with an additional two year warranty. This is great value for money.

I do not know if this offer will still be open tomorrow so it's best to check out with the store first if you are not buying today.

Nearly Got Caught

A couple of days ago, I nearly was caught by a phishing mail. Hah.. this is what lack of sleep with do to anyone.

I actually received an email from "E*Trade Bank" with the subject title: Security Alert: Update your account information. Normally, I would have trashed such mail straightaway without even opening it but I opened to read this mail because coincidentally, I was having an issue with my E*Trade account.

While my account is actually a brokerage account, the email from the bank made me pause for a second. And as always, an email that does not address me by name does not warrant any attention. Moreover, the email was sent to a WRONG address.

What ass luck I would have if I actually did click on the link. Check out the email, logo and all!

Internet Marketing Explained

No one would believe the amount of hard work it is to be an online trader. Sure, we sit in front of the computer and that does not seem like "work" to many, but let me tell you, if you open a brick-n-mortar store, you do not even have to have any knowledge in SEO!

I have had people tell me to my face that all I ever do is "click here, click there" and the money rolls in. Oh, I wish! I do a lot of research and homework, visiting sales pages of my competitors, other webstores and learn from blogs.

A recent discovery is AllInAnchor.com, a fairly new blog that is worthy for repeat visits. This is an internet marketing blog that touches on lead management and analytics. I also read it for the latest news in internet news that may affect my position as an internet marketer.

I know that as the blog ages, more valuable post will be added in and I can't wait to study and implement the tips that will be shared. As an internet marketer, life is rather interesting. Somebody comes up with an idea which we can choose to implement. A successfully implemented idea could turn the tide for our business. Really, it is a lot of work as an internet marketer with my own online store.

Blogs like AllInAnchor.com help us to understand the business better in layman language. That's what I like.

The PayPal Security Key

I am not sure if anyone noticed, we can now log into our eBay account with our eBay password together with a string of digits known as the PayPal Security Key. I did not read about it anywhere and only noticed it recently when I log into my account.

It may have been implemented earlier, I am not sure, but when I log into my eBay account, I am usually on auto-pilot and don't usually notice anything except when I am unable to log in! hahaha!

And not especially when the text is so tiny!

Anyway, why would anyone want to buy a PayPal Security Key, yes, you heard me: BUY at $5 a piece, when you can make your own security key and changing your password every other day? I know this may sound extreme but then I am not sure if $5 is worth it.

As I said, I did not buy it and do not plan to buy it at all. I don't really know what sort of "key" will be given to the Buyer but from PayPal's Security Key Page, it is stated that it is small enough to be carried in your key chain.

Eh?

Oh my goodness! Another number to remember, another number to carry around, another number to lose or be stolen! EEEeeekkk!

SEMCheck Your Sites

I am sure by now it is stale news that I run a webstore and a host of blogs. However, one of my main concerns as a webmaster is that my sites are not getting as much exposure on the search engines as they could. I always test my own search results using certain keywords but they are always either at the bottom of the first page or at the back pages.

Search engine marketing and search engine placements are of course very important to my ecommerce site so I did some research on the internet on how I could check each page of my sites from the perspective of search engines.

I found the site called SEMCheck which offers this
SEO audit service for $98. The website did not mention if this is a one-time fee or per month or if it is an annual fee but I find this service exceptionally useful because it tests my sites against a total of twenty four separate factors that match the current SEO best practices.

This is something I would like to be done on all my sites and analyze the reports so that they could be improved. I'll just have to speak to my partner.

La Senza's Last Call

I just received an email newsletter from La Senza. I am on their mailing list and I love receiving their email because they serve as eye candy for me. I appreciate lovely lingerie although I have no plans to buy any. Heck I SELL lingerie, why do I have to buy, right?

While I do not have any plans to buy, I know that a few of my readers have benefited from the La Senza promotional codes that I posted on my blog, thanks to being in the loop. Hey, if you would like to be a regular buyer of any online store, it pays to be on the mailing list so that you can pounce when the time is right.

Today's email is La Senza's last call for their biggest sale ever. It's funny that I did not even receive their first call, haahaa! Anyway, this time, their sale is applicable online as well as in store. This is great news to people who prefer to walk in.

Their mega markdowns include $10 for 3 panties, $8.50 bras and robes at $12.50 each. This sounds like a STEAL. It's La Senza, you know? There ARE a few La Senza stores in Malaysia and Singapore. Wonder what quantum of discount that we get to enjoy from them!

Happy shopping!

Checking Out A Florida Real Estate Directory

I am sure if you have been reading my blogs on a regular basis, I have a friend who is heavily into property investment. One of the most interesting real estate market to him is Florida.

He excitedly told me about the newly launched
Florida Real Estate Directory which is one of the sites of USA4SALE Networks, Inc., and a sister site of Tampa4sale.com, Orlando4sale.com, Gainesville4sale.com and Ocala4sale.com.

According to my friend, this directory is very user-friendly and it lists all the websites of companies which are in the real estate business. To look for information, he just needs to select a location and then there will be lists of agencies, Realtors, appraisers, attorneys, mortgages, builders and many more.

Right now, the site is free to use. All companies are welcome to list their business but of course, one could upgrade him membership at a nominal fee for extra features.

It is wonderful to have such a localized directory where he could easily look for local companies and information all under one website. My friend says that because he is from New York City, he hopes there is a web directory for his city soon too.

Florida Realtors, mortgage lenders, builders, brokers and other real estate professionals now have a new way to promote their website at no charge.

FloridaForSale.Com offers statewide web links to businesses in the real estate industry Basic posting with a reciprocal web link is free of charge. Upgraded listings are available at a nominal charge.

To add a website, simply visit FloridaForSale.Com and browse to the appropriate category. Then click on the “Add Url” link at the top of the page to add a website to the directory.

FloridaForSale.Com is the latest website offered by USA4SALE Networks, Inc. The Florida-based web publisher operates several classified sites in central Florida, including Tampa4sale.com, Orlando4sale.com and Gainesville4sale.com. Ocala4sale.com, launched in 1998, is ranked among the nation’s Top Ten classified sites by Ranking.com.

Lelong's New Online Identity Verification Process

With effect from 1st July, 2007, Lelong has streamlined their ID verification process. No longer will they accept a fax copy of MyKad. Now, every one has to send in a digital image of it. Lelong Admin only mentioned an image captured with the digital camera. What about a scanned copy? A scanned copy is way clearer than one taken with a digital camera, anyway.

While I am all for changes for the better, I think that Lelong is restricting us by not offering both the option to fax and to scan. A long time ago when I verified my identification card, many fellow Lelongers told me that not everyone has a fax machine and it is not easy for them to fax a copy to Lelong office.

Similarly, not everyone has a good quality digital camera even today. Personally, I don't have a good camera myself even though I sell online. I feel that Lelong should offer as many ways for people to choose from for verification of identity. This will drive more users to the marketplace and it will only go business good for Lelong and Sellers on Lelong.

To read more about this new policy, check this forum post.

Exquisite Body Jewelry

I have to admit I am not that adventurous when it comes to body piercing! Heck I even only pierced my ears when I was 16 while most of my friends did it when they were 6 only! hahaha!

Now my friends have upgraded to body piercing especially those who have received their tertiary education overseas where they are exposed to culture like these.

Although I don't see myself doing it because I am a sissy when it comes to pain, even though it is aimed at accessorising and beautifying myself, I still admire the wide range of Body Jewelry available for people who have pierced the various parts of their bodies.

My friends told me that they can't buy these locally and they have to buy online from specialty online stores, stores that only carries the best in body jewelry.

I am amazed that body jewelry is even more exquisite than ordinary jewelry like rings, earrings and necklaces. Just look at these pieces and I am sure any girl would fall in love with! I only wish that jewelers could make jewelry pieces like these for the rest of us.

PayPal Performs Maintenance 23:59 PDT to 03:00 PDT

I just received a notice that PayPal will be performing maintenance on the site from 23:59 PDT (12th July, 2007) to 03:00 PDT (13th July, 2007)

The note says that the site MAY be unavailable during that time. That means, it may also be available!

Since the time when the site was broken after a supposedly upgrade, I shiver at my knees. I am afraid that things will not go as smoothly anymore. I wonder why these websites keep going for maintenance. If it ain't broken, don't fix it, I say!

Perhaps I don't understand how websites are run. I get double the jitter bugs when it is a financial site like PayPal. Thankfully I don't have much funds in there and if I did right now, I would have initiated a withdrawal pronto! I really don't fancy having funds locked up again should anything happen to the site like a couple of months ago. Once bitten, more than two times shy!

Hahaha I am not known as a pessimist for nothing but I don't like surprises at all! Well, I am going to keep my fingers and toes crossed until after 03:00 PDT.

Cash Advance & Payday Loan Resources

Many people I know only have bad things to say about cash advance and pay day loans. For me, I do not think that they are bad, except that when we utilize these services, we have to be disciplined.

These people who have a bad impression of pay day loans because they have never fallen into a financial dump before. They do not know what it is like not knowing where the next meal will come from or if there is money to feed the children, let alone educated them.

Many years ago, my family was financially crippled due to a bad investment plan and we could only borrow so much from our relatives. Friends went away, naturally. And it was cash advances that pulled us through.

Back then, it was not easy to search for such companies because the internet was still in its infancy. However, today I came across a website, at cashadvance-fast.com, where a list of reasonable cash advance and payday loan companies are recommended.

Taking out a cash advance is a short term solution and one should always be aware of the interest rate BEFORE being committed to it. Moreover, one should repay the money ON TIME.

Cash advance and payday loans are not bad. It is only when we default our repayment that the loan gets out of control. Once we are committed to it, we discipline ourselves to see it through.

Until today, we are glad that there were such loans available that helped us pull through the tough times.

A Better Way To Accept Credit Cards

Some one came to my webstore recently to check out my payment processor. He did a check out with a couple of times without having the intention of paying for them. I thought it was a sale but then he dropped me a note telling me that he has a better payment gateway and asked me to try it out.

Firstly, I do not take too kindly to him doing a checkout like that and THEN have the nerve to sell me his product. I know my payment processor is not perfect and that I should have a more friendly way to accept credit cards but that is not the way to approach me, is it?

Even so, I went and had a chat with a fellow online trader who runs a very popular store. I wanted to know how good his payment processor is and he told me that he has not encountered any problem so far. He said that since setting up his online store, he has been using a merchant account company and because the transactions run so smoothly, he sees no reason to switch to another. He believes that he is only one of many loyal customers. Well, if my own provider has not been giving me problems, I wouldn't think of switching either!

According to my friend, when he signed up for a merchant account, he was given a whole list of freebies. It also did not require any fees to set up, no paperwork and the best is there is no annual fee. That means he is only paying a small service charge for every successful sale. This means that he could keep his layout capital low.

Moreover, he was given a long list of programs and software for credit card processing, credit card terminal, online sales tracking and reporting, shopping cart set up system and a host of other software that makes running his business without hassle.

My friend told me that I should check out the company fast because they are running a promotion that ends on 12th July, 2007. This certainly looks like I have to act fast as time is of the essence!

Comparing Discover Credit Cards

When my friend heard that I am looking to apply for a credit card, he showed me a website on Discover Cards from the website CreditMe.com. This is a credit card comparison site which I have to admit, I may never come across if not for my friend's introduction.

It has a whole page and a half of Discover Credit Cards, listing out the whole range of cards available to us plus the benefits of each card. It is great that I could compare each card right there on the page without searching all over the internet.

Plus, it is wonderful to have a small APPLY NOW button for each card so that I could easily apply directly from CreditMe.com without going to the website of the respective financial institute.

With fifteen Discover Credit Cards from cards suitable for students to business cards, it is a good thing that such a credit card comparison site is available for us because it makes life so easy for us who are looking for the right card to apply.

One thing I noticed from the comparison is that all Discover Credit Cards do not charge an annual fee. What great news. To be frank, I have to admit that I would not have noticed this if not for them all being listed and compared side by side.

Having experienced the ease of using the website and the user-friendliness in comparing those Discover Credit Cards, I would definitely be showing the site to my friends who are also shopping for the perfect credit card.
