Joint Bank Account

My friend got married a few months ago, and even though he and his wife have been together for a few years, he still could not decide if he wants to hold a joint bank account with her. His wife is all for it but he is afraid that he will lose his money to her. I guess it's because he earns many times more than her that he feels insecure giving her control of his money.

Frankly, when I am married, I too do not know if I want to hold a joint bank account with my husband. If he wants one, I would probably have one and yet still keep the bulk of my money in my individual bank account. Yes, I am this careful. After all, there are no guarantees in life.

Although many of my married friends hold joint bank accounts with their spouse, and for some of them, that is the only bank account they have and they are very comfortable with the arrangement, I think it's too risky for me. I guess it's because of an incident that happened to a neighbour of mine many years that left a deep impression on me, even though I was very young back then.

When my friend asked me for my opinion if he should open a joint account with his wife, I told him to go ahead. Hahaha! He’s a guy and he has nothing to lose, right?

"Own" An Entire Hotel For 24 Hours

This auction is really interesting. A hotel in San Diego, Little Italy’s Porto Vista Hotel, is being put up on auction where the winning bidder and 300 of his or her closest friends and family can celebrate in for 24 hours from noon of 31st December, 2010 until noon of 1st January, 2011. This means that if you are planning the ultimate New Year's bash and you have the money for it, this is something that's worth considering.

Bidding has started and will be available until 26th November, 2010. Opening bid is "only" US$1000 but I wouldn't be surprised if the price goes up quickly as this auction package includes the hotels 189 rooms and VIP suites, Glass Door Restaurant with personal chef and customized medu for a meal for up to 50 VIP guests, a party on the Ripassi rooftop deck for 300 guests, DJ, personalized menu, open bar, private luxury cabanas and the use of the entire team of hotel staff for that 24 hours.

Well, if anyone dreams of owning a hotel but couldn't afford it, perhaps it's still a dream come true to own one for 24 hours.

Standing Out With Superman Cufflinks

It's Christmas soon and I am going to have to get something for my cousin brother. His mother passed away a few months ago, you see, so this is his first Christmas without his mother so we are trying our best to cheer him up. My cousin is still a college student and since I have never bought any gifts for college age guys before, it's not an easy task for me.

My sister suggested cufflink and my first thought was, "Not cufflinks again?" Now that I have seen what CuffCrazy.com has to offer, I really think cuff links is the answer! The mens cufflinks here are cufflinks that I have never seen before.

Do you know of any guy who is crazy about Superman? If so, you really should get him these Superman cufflinks. If Superman is not THE ultimate Super Hero, then what about Batman? You can also get cuff links of the evil Joker here.

Besides these novelty Super Hero cufflinks, you can also get iPhone cufflinks. I have a friend who keeps hinting that he would like to have an iPhone for his birthday. I have a mind to give him this pair of black iPhone cufflinks. HAHAHA

I love it that these cufflinks are inexpensive, which means that I could buy a few pairs and gift them away on special occasions, not necessarily only on Christmases and birthdays. In fact, buying a few pairs at a time, I could save even more money! Yay!

CIMB Foreign Cash ATM

Being a customer of CIMB, I receive their promotional flyers in the mail occasionally. Right now, the bank is promoting their foreign cash ATM, which I think is a wonderful feature. What these foreign cash ATMs do is to dispense cash in foreign currencies even as you use your regular CIMB ATM card to withdraw funds from your CIMB accounts (savings, current and even credit card).

I think this is an extremely convenient service for CIMB customers, especially those who travel out of the country regularly. I wonder if the exchange rate offered is favourable.

Do take not that CIMB foreign cash ATMs are not available at all CIMB bank branches but only at selected locations:

* Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Level 5 Departure Hall
* Kuala Lumpur International Airport Satellite Terminal
* Low Cost Carrier Terminal
* Menara Bumiputra-Commerce
* CIMB Bank Damansara Utama
* CIMB Bank USJ9
* Pavilion
* Tropicana City Mall

Although we expect these foreign cash ATMs to be in service 24 hours a day, do note that 24-hour service is not available at Menara Bumiputra-Commerce, Pavilion and Tropicana City Mall.

Investing In Bullion

My aunt told me that she plans to open a "gold account" with the bank. Seriously, buying and investing in gold is so much easier now compared to two generations ago. Even though it is so convenient, my aunt told me that if she could, she would rather buy gold bullion. I think she feels reassured to see the gold, instead of just having a "booklet" to show for her "gold". The booklet doesn't give one the feeling of satisfaction or happiness.

I am sure she is not the only investor to feel so. Luckily, it is really not that difficult to buy bullion. The only thing is that if we want to store the bullion ourselves, we have to be careful. After all, precious metal is very valuable, especially gold. It's at a very good price now in the world metal market.

James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 "Most Famous Car In The World" Sold In Auction

Ohio property tycoon Harry Yeaggy is one happy man. As a collector of classic cars, he surely has bagged the most special car in the world right now, known as the most famous car in the world. It's the Aston DB5 that was used in James Bond's Goldfinger that starred Sean Connery and Bond girl Tania Mallett as Tilly Masterson. It was also used in Thunderball.

The auction was won at a high bid of £2.6million in London last night. The auction took only four minutes and received only two bids. I guess the economy is still not recovered yet though new owner, Harry Yeaggy says that he paid more than he expected to, but it was still a good buy. I bet!

With all the amazing features, though some may not work despite what was shown in the movies (those were just special effects, duh!), this is surely every boy's dream car.

Lunch With Billionaire Investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala On eBay India

eBay India is partnering with billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, just like how eBay.com is partnering with Warren Buffett, to benefit social causes. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is offering his time and investment advice to the highest bidder to have lunch with him.

As far as I could tell, the date is not set yet but the lunch should be about two hours long or so. The winner of the auction will be able to invite nine other guests, which means that there will be a total of 11 people, including Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. Well, unless he brings someone along.

Proceeds from this auction will benefit the Children’s Movement for Civic Awareness (CMCA). It is a national citizenship programme that nurtures democratic values and citizenship skills in children in India.

Auction started from 26th October, 2010 and will end on 2nd November, 2010. Bidding started at Rs. 1001. I expect the price to rise very quickly. It's for a good cause and ten people get to pick a billionaire's mind!

Buying Precious Metal Bullion

My friend asked me if it's really possible to make a living off the internet. He knows that I trade online and he is interested. He wouldn't have the time, I tell him, because he has a day job and a side job and working online is also a full time job!

That's why I am trying to work as hard as I could and hopefully, I have enough spare cash to invest so that I can enjoy passive income when I am older and no longer able to put in long hours at my work. I have been advised to a buy silver bullion because its price has dropped a little and it is more affordable now. Of course, ultimately, I am aiming for gold bullion. It's a lot more expensive but I love the gold glitter more than silver!

Cybercrime Increases, Credit Card Holders Fear Internet

I am sure we have been reading too much news in the papers regarding cyber crime. It's all very real and people who shop online with their credit cards are beginning to fear using credit cards online, according to a study conducted by an internet security firm. It's understandable that we fear that such financial information could be stolen from our computers when it is connected to the internet.

Did you know that this study found that an average of four people out of five who are internet users have had their computer infected with a virus or malware at some point of their life, thirty percent of the respondents were infected with a computer virus in the past three months itself.

My sister, even though living in the United States, does not use a credit card because she doesn't feel safe about it. Of course, she also doesn't feel that she can control her finances well with a credit card but that's another issue altogether. LOL

Considering a Lighter Laptop

A friend says that he pities me that I have to carry such a heavy laptop when I travel. He is thinking of letting me use his smart phone, which to him could do everything that I could on a laptop. Actually, it couldn't. I cannot work fast on a phone, especially when it's a touch screen phone. Why else do I lug my laptop even though I already have two smart phones?

I am not considering a newer, lighter laptop. I am looking around, though not necessarily buying yet since my current laptop is only 2.5 years old. It is still considered new to me. I must remember to buy extended laptop warranty after hearing about the terrible technical problems that my friends faced as soon as the first year was over. HHmm it's as if the laptop knows that the warranty has expired!

Do you have any idea which laptop I should look for that is light and yet wouldn't need me to squint while I work?

Rev Angel 300HP V-8 Exotic Replica Supercar On eBay

I like to spend time on eBay, checking out the stuff that people put up. There are many reasons why the owners are ready to let something go, and it seems that no matter what one puts up, there is surely a taker.

However, I spotted this replica supercar recently on a car blog and it looks like many people are bashing it because of the way the original car has been modified. And it looks like many people are thinking so because with only 1+ day left to the auction, there is still not even one bid yet. Or perhaps with a starting price of US $3,875.00, it is just too expensive to most of us. The V-8 engine could be a deterrent too.

In any case, I am going to see if my theory that there will always be a taker for anything thrown out on eBay, is proven correct. Watch this eBay auction HERE.

The Practicality of Gold Coins

My sister told me that she would like to buy some cute accessories after her trip from New York. These accessories are imported from Japan and it's not cheap. I am trying to dissuade her that those stuff are "useless". I had a shock to read that the annual sales of Hello Kitty, a Japanese cartoon character, is USD1 billion! Why must my sister add to it? LOL

Wouldn't it be more practical to buy a gold coin with the money? Of course a gold coin would be more expensive than Hello Kitty merchandise but one has to start somewhere, right? From what I read on the website of United States Gold Bureau, there is still plenty of upside potential for gold so it really make economic sense to invest in gold bullion, and for those like us without much capital, a gold coin, one at a time.

Groupon Partners With eBay

Groupon is a rising star of Silicon Valley. While many people have compared it with eBay, it is certainly not like eBay to me. It's a "middleman" where one could get deals at bulk purchase prices. With Groupon, one could join thousands of others to purchase a something; whether it is a meal or a service.

I have been checking out Groupon's daily deals lately but with this partnership, I would be able to look at these Groupon daily deals from eBay itself. It should be a whole lot easier and more convenient. Of course, thanks to this partnership, there are many benefits to buyers too, for example, 5% of the purchase price be converted to eBay Bucks.

It's be interesting to see how this partnership will develop, if it will and which eBay sites will now carry Groupon deals but it surely will pass a whole lot of traffic to the Groupon website.

Help For K-12 & College Math

My cousin brother told me that he is on the verge of giving up college. I was very surprised as I never suspected that he had trouble coping with his course. However, it is my responsibility to see to it that he graduates from college as it was my promise to his mother when she was very ill.

I told my cousin that he shouldn't give up and there is surely a solution. If course, he will have to work harder, since it's his mother's dream to see him graduate, but I will also ask around and see if there are supplementary classes that he could take.

I found that Tutornext.com is a very good website that offers free math tutoring online. I am sure that my cousin would find online tutoring very beneficial. Back in my time, I was always struggling with Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 too. I think it's our genes!

I don't know if my cousin needs Statistics help but with Tutornext.com, he could receive Math answers very quickly; so quickly, it wouldn't disrupt his revision. If my cousin needs Chemistry help, he could try Tutornext.com too, though my cousin has dropped Chemistry.

eBay Recycles Your Old Electronic Devices

eBay has a new Green initiative where you could recycle your old electronic devices for free, or receive a small amount of money for it. What you have to do, if you have any old devices sitting around at home, is to send in a description to eBay via their Instant Sale website and receive an almost instant quote for the item.

You will then have to ship the item to eBay, if you agree with the price, of course, and then eBay will credit the amount, probably inclusive of shipping, to your PayPal account. If, on the other hand, your electronic device doesn't worth anything, eBay will still want your item. If you still would like to recycle it via eBay, you will be sent a free postage-paid envelope which you could send in your item with at no cost to you.

I caution that if you have any old electronic device, you should check out the market first because eBay may not offer you the highest price. There are many companies out there collecting old consumer electronic devices. Also, perhaps you would want to consider keeping it. Judging from how trends go, perhaps your antique electronic device could be worth a whole lot more in the future than what you are getting today.

Preserving Wealth With Gold

When I was a kid, I didn't understand why my grandmother would save so hard just to buy gold, not gold jewelry but gold bars. We were very poor back then and she would still try her best to buy gold even if it took her a long time to save enough for a gold bar. If she had bought jewelry, I would have understood because jewelry has a purpose. Well, so does gold bars, just that I didn't see it then.

Over these past couple of years, I have been reading up on gold investment after seeing how much its value has gone up in the metal market. Though I still haven't found the capital to invest in gold, I hope that one day, I too would be able to buy gold, like how my grandmother did, with my own money earned through my own sweat and blood. Buying gold now is so much more convenient than during my grandmother's time!

PayPal Withdrawal From Around 15th Oct 2010 Delayed

A few of my readers wrote in to me to let me know that their PayPal withdrawals initiated around 15th October, 2010. These affected readers are from the United Kingdom and Malaysia. Although these withdrawals have faced a delay, subsequent withdrawals made after the 15th October, arrived to their bank accounts without any incident.

This makes me to conclude that perhaps there was a server error or delay on PayPal's side around the 15th. You know that PayPal never makes any announcement when they have a technical problem. I say PayPal problem because these affected users all use accounts with different banks.

If you have made a PayPal withdrawal around the 15th of Oct, boy, am I glad I didn't, you should give your funds a little bit more time to clear. Writing in to or calling PayPal is useless as they will only ask you to wait.

eBay France Makes Changes To Competition Rules

eBay France, that is running a competition for eBay users in France to win a free stay at a "home", has made changes to the rules after the company was accused of being biased against gays and lesbians. eBay France has at first stated that this competition is open to "couples of different genders" to try to get as many people to participate in the competition so as to represent better people who use eBay.

eBay France has said that discrimination against gay and lesbian couples never crossed their mind and that they certainly never had that intention. It's great to see that eBay France has listened to the feedback and has taken steps to clarify their competition rules and now states that this contest is practically open to everyone irrespective of gender or sexual orientation, though they did say earlier that the “home” in question only has one bedroom.

Collecting Gold Coin One At A Time

A friend told me that next week is her son's first birthday and she wonders if there is a "priceless" gift that she could give him. I told her that if I have children, I would buy them a gold coin every birthday. It's an inexpensive birthday present but it will be valuable when these children are adults and could decide for themselves what they want to do with the gold coins.

I have been reading up on gold investment on the website of United States Gold Bureau so I do understand the many investment benefits of buying gold. It is a previous metal that has withstood the test of time and will continue to do so in future generations to come.

Even if I may never have children of my own, I should start gifting a gold coin to myself every birthday. It's the best gift I could reward myself with.

NES Coffee Table On eBay

I have always thought that the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) game console was fugly and I am not saying so because I am sore that my parents weren't rich enough to buy me one but just the replica NES. I've played the real NES often enough, though, at my friend's place, and loved the entertainment value, even with its ugly looks.

This guy by the name of Matt has designed a NES coffee table that looks like a gigantic Nintendo that apparently works and it doubles as a coffee table too. I don't know how it is operated but it looks really solid and heavy and I wonder if it will short circuit if water is accidentally poured on it. It's a coffee table, after all.

Bid opened at US$400 and at this time of writing, it has already received 6 bids, reaching US$560. Hmm looks like there is interest in it, fugly X 100 as it is.

Ideas For Christmas Gift Packs

My sister sent me an urgent text message this morning asking if I could suggest some ideas to her. She has been assigned to get ready Christmas gift packs for the store that she works in, not only for staff, but also for regular customers. Last year, if I remember correctly, she was part of the team that prepared the Christmas staff dinner.

According to my sister, she is trying to get something different for each person and she is running low on christmas gift ideas for kids and adults. I too couldn't come up with any refreshing ideas at such short notice but have promised to check the internet for her.

Since two brains are better than one, I trust that we will be able to come up with something. We still have almost two months to work on this!

Aussie Shoppers Flocking To US Online Stores

With the Australian Dollar almost at par with the US Dollar, Aussie shoppers have been having a field day shopping online, especially at US stores because it's almost the same as shopping in Australia but with a wider variety of goods to choose from.

Some retailers may offer free shipping, even though international, and when shopping with discount coupons or promotional codes, shopping at US stores could even be cheaper than shopping at a local store. Of course, Australian shoppers will have to be patient and wait for packages to be delivered, which may take weeks, if the packages are really shipped from the US and not from Hong Kong or maybe even China.

It's too bad that Australian etailers have not really catch on to online trading earlier and have missed the opportunities to sell to US shoppers when their currency was a lot stronger than the Australian Dollar.

Looking Tired

A friend told me that when her friend posted a photo of them on Facebook, another friend commented that she looks tired. She feels slighted and said that it's because she has not had a good night's rest since the birth of her son 7 years ago. She is a young mother to two boys and I guess they have been keeping her on her toes day and night.

My friend wanted to know if she really looks that bad, which is not really true. A little tired yes, but not any worse than any other working lady who has a family to take care of. She told me that she didn't realize it at first, but she has pretty heavy eye bags and asked if I know of any tricks to remove dark circles under eyes. I don't. I too have dark eye circles because of all the late nights!

Anyway, I think it was insensitive of her friend to pass such remarks, especially over the internet and passing judgment over one photograph!

Sega CD Night Trap Cover Art Painting On eBay

I have been following auctions on eBay for a long time and even though I have come to the conclusion that no matter what item you throw out there, there would be someone who would want it, I am still surprised with some of the stuff that people push on eBay and even more surprised when there are people who would pay good money for it!

I spotted an item on eBay, an original cover art of Sega CD's Night Trap that shows a girl (not even a real girl) in bikini, and you know what? At this time of writing, bidding has already reached US$390.00.

The thing is, the seller did not include too much information on the item that he is selling, except its size 25 X 15 inches and that it is dated 10/20/1992 and autographed by the artist. If you are a gamer, perhaps you would be interested.

Getting Rid of Bees

My friend told me that she discovered a huge beehive at the top of the large tree in her compound and she doesn't know what to do about it. I have read that people use smoke to chase bees away but I am afraid of bees and would not be able to do it. The buzzing sound of bees makes my knees weak!

I told her to call up a pest control company but she said that none was willing to go over to her house to check out the beehive, claiming that their services do not include bee control. Fire ant, white ant and termite, yes; bee, no. Well, it's too bad then as I have read that a Houston pest control company offers all kinds of pest control services, including bee control.

I guess if my friend is not able to look for anyone to help her, she would have to let nature take its course. Luckily, she doesn't have young children living with her and she is out of the house for long hours because of work. Hopefully, the bees will leave their hive one day while she is away.

Budget 2011: Service Tax To be Increased From 5% to 6%

Although we always look forward to a new Budget announcement every October, and although the Government keeps proclaiming that each Budget is a Budget for the people, I don't see how it is so. It is regrettable to know that service tax will be increased from 5% to 6% in 2011 and this means that most services will be a whole lot more expensive.

Seriously, I don't see any benefit the Raykat has on this, and all those so-called "benefits" like removing taxes on ordinary mobile phones and leather goods are useless because these are luxury stuff; stuff that most of us do not buy anyway!

But service tax is really different. Even if we do not want to spend, if we fall sick and seek medical treatment, we are forced to spend, and get charged additional 6% to boot. Don't tell me that it'll be covered by medical insurance because most of us do not have it.

Anyway, let's make enough noise to let the Government know that this is not good for the People!

Stubborn Skin Disease

I was quite shocked the other day, when I saw that my friend had pretty awful eczema. I never realized it because she never mentioned it and it was not visible under clothing. However, when we went on a holiday together last month, and shared a room, I saw how she suffered when her eczema flared up. I guess it was the change of weather or environment that caused it.

My friend told me that she has undergone various eczema treatments and it normally is under control, though sometimes, it does flare up like the other day. She told me that it's very itchy and she had to apply lotion to keep the areas cool.

Previously, people say that skin diseases are a hygiene problem but I don't think that's the case sometimes. I didn't ask my friend how she caught it because it's a sensitive matter but I do hope that she could get rid of it once and for all!

Preferring Offline Shopping

My sister, who shops online a lot told me that she wanted to buy a coat for her holiday in New York and although she found one online and wanted to buy it, she decided to buy a similar coat offline. Yes, even though she may not be getting the same coat.

The reason was that my sister's trip is just ten days away and even though it is a reputable online apparel store, she was afraid that there would be a delay in delivery and she would have left for New York without the coat!

My sister is lucky though, because even though there is no physical store in her neighbourhood, she still managed to buy the same coat, though not of her preferred shade but it was still a good buy, according to her. At least, she has the coat with her now!

If you are planning to shop online this holiday, I think you should start shopping early, just in case there is a delivery delay!

Rolling 401K and IRA Into Gold

A couple of years ago, a friend advised me to open a foreign currency bank account. I was rather interested back then but because of lack of time, or even capital, I didn't manage to see it through. My friend, on the other hand, invested in a couple of currencies but recently told me that it's time to cash out and start investing in gold and gold coins. She knows that I did not open a foreign currency account, you see, and didn't want me to miss the boat this time!

According to what my friend read on the United States Gold Bureau website, she can hold gold and other precious metals in her 401K and IRA accounts, and she will be seeing to it. As for me, I don't have such accounts and will not be able to invest this way.

However, I do know that gold is a very stable commodity to invest in. I hope that I will be able to set aside some savings every month and invest in gold little by little.

Switching To e-Statements

I read about a few disgruntled bank customers who, without them realising, began receiving their credit card statements through their online bank account instead of the usual paper statement through normal mail.

This caused them to miss their payment and in turn, was fined by their banks for late payment in addition to finance charges. For many of us who have been paying our bills on time, we usually will just pay our bill even though we did not receive our bill yet.

However, in this case where the banks suddenly switched to e-statements without informing their customers, I think it's a poor business practice that caught customers off-guard. If you are affected by this sudden switching and get charged for late payment and incurred additional finance charges, you should make a stand and asked for a waiver on these fees.

100 Beautiful Brides

Oh yes, talking about the mass wedding that I attended, where I took plenty of photos, I noticed that none of the brides had zits on their faces. I thought that women who are stressed would suffer from zits, perhaps it's only me! And surely getting married with 99 other couples at the same time, which hundreds of reporters around to cover the event, is very stressful indeed!

I think these brides must be using highly effective acne treatment cream or else how could they maintain their flawless complexion? If there was time, I would have asked them for their beauty routine but then they were all busy taking photographs with friends and family, and I was only an outsider who didn't know anyone there at all! Oh well, I missed the chance.

'Ghost Dolls' On Sale On eBay Singapore

A Chinese vernacular newspaper in Malaysia reported that 'ghost dolls' are being put up on sale on eBay Singapore recently, priced from from SGD10 to SGD300. According to the seller, these "ghost dolls" that depict little girls with smiling faces, are said to be able to help their owners "solve problems".

The seller claims that these "ghost dolls" were obtained by the owner, who had supernatural powers, from a place where "witches and ghosts gathered" and that the owner has since passed away, leaving his spirit inside the dolls.

One word: eerie! There are probably people who will buy, though, since there are WEIRD people around us!

100 Slim Brides

I went to the mass wedding at Chin Woo Hall in Ipoh where 100 couples got married to commemorate the date 10.10.10 even though I do not know any of the couples or was a guest. I was just a member of the curious public. LOL

What I noticed though, that out of the 100 brides present, I couldn't find one that was fat. Plump yes, but also only a couple of them! The rest were all very slim and looked ravishing in their white bridal gowns!

Perhaps they were on diet pill that works before their big day. I know I would want to look my best on my wedding day, especially when the entire country was looking!

Sachin Tendulkar Autographed Cricket Bat On eBay India

A cricket bat that is autographed by Indian ace cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, has been listed on eBay since 11th October, 2010. This is a charity auction and proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of India, a non-profit foundation that grants the wishes of terminally ill children in the country.

The auction starts at Rs.1,001 and I believe this will be a much sought-after sports celebrity memorabilia, especially among cricket fans around the world. The auction will end on 21st October, 2010. How much do you think the bid will reach?

New Affiliate Program From Tissa Godavitarne

Being self-employed and working from home because I enjoy the time flexibility, I admit that I have participated in a few affiliate marketing programs, though none worked out for me. I am not blaming the systems but on the lack of time that I put in. Somehow, I am someone who gives up very fast.

Some of the programs that I signed up with were Global Domains International and Acme People Search, after reading about how much money people were making through these online affiliate marketing programs. Sad to say, I lost money because I didn't persevere.

Now, I have news that there will be a BRAND NEW program from Tissa Godavitarne. If you are familiar with online affiliate marketing, you would have heard of Tissa Godavitarne. He is a successful online affiliate marketing guru and the brainchild behind Acme People Search.

Although I have not been successful in any of my affiliate marketing campaigns, I am still excited to know about this new program and eagerly await it as it is Tissa's very own network marketing program. Since it is new, if I sign up early, I would not be competing with too many people promoting the same product.

At this point, we do not have much information on this program though it is touted to be the future of affiliate marketing. I guess there is nothing we can do but wait.

Mac Museum Sold On eBay

It seems like if you are a collector, which I am, and if we make our collection so large that we need a room to house the entire collection, we can sell it off and make a tidy profit. Of course, that is no compensation for the time that we have spent on our collection but if we no longer can afford the time or the money to source for items to add on to our collection, looking for a new owner is a very good option.

The owner and curator of Mac Museum of Franklin Park NJ has recently put it up on auction on eBay. The listing garnered a total of 20 bids with the top bid at US$10,000. If the seller had accepted international bids, I believe the price could have gone beyond this. However, it's understandable why, since these old technology gadgets are so heavy.

Reducing The Cost Of Owning A Car

My friend, Irene, purchased a new car a few months ago. Now, she is already feeling the financial weight of having to pay her installment on time at the beginning of every month, and there are still another 4+ YEARS to go! Irene told me that when she was doing her calculations on whether she could afford a new car, her income was quite good. Now, her husband is retrenched and the family is making do with a single income.

Right now, she is looking for ways to cut down expenses with regards to the car, like looking for cheap car insurance and extending mileage for her gas. Although I drive an old car, at least I do not have to worry about an installment like Irene and many of my other friends who are driving a spanking new car.

Tony Curtis Memorabilia On eBay

As with any passing of a celebrity or personality, whether due to old age or shockingly, eBay will always be flooded with memorabilia of said person. The latest person to be featured prominently on eBay is Tony Curtis, who passed away on Wednesday in his home in Las Vegas from cardiac arrest.

Tony Curtis was a Hollywood actor who was also an artist. I am sure a lot of us have watched classic Hollywood movies like The Defiant Ones, Some Like It Hot, Spartacus which he starred in.

Unlike other Hollywood actors and actresses who passed away, eBay now doesn't only have Tony Curtis memorabilia but also his paintings. If you are a fan of Tony Curtis, or one of classic Hollywood, this is a good time to check out eBay for Tony Curtis memorabilia to pick up something good.

Baja Properties

Although I am still struggling with owning my first property, I went to a real estate investor's exposition last week and came away with plenty of international property investment opportunities. Frankly, I don't have the ability right now but I have my eyes on baja real estate already because I think that it's a place that one could really relax.

I am not familiar with Baja, Mexico right now but I am surely going to get as much information on properties in Baja while I source for funds to invest. A good place to look for Baja real estate is MLSBaja.com with marketing and listing services in Baja.

As you can see, I am putting a lot of pressure on myself. I always feel that I have a lot of catching up to do compared to the things that my friends have achieved. I think that I would only feel that I have "made it" if I have a property in Baja!

Bacon Kevin Bacon Bust

I know, this sounds obscene. Actually, the bust looks obscene as well. It's 14 inches tall and made entirely out of bacon, though it is not edible because it has been treated so that it would last. Does it look like Kevin Bacon at all? I don't see the resemblance. Maybe I need to look at Kevin Bacon the actor more times, and longer. Nah... I'm not his fan!

Bidding has reached US$510 already, I am surprised. Although I think that this is a pretty dumb auction, I still think it's a good effort to raise money for charity. All proceeds will go towards Ashley’s Team, a not-for-profit charitable organisation with the mission to bring joy to childhood cancer patients.

How much do you think this auction will close at?

iTunes Scam Mail Virus

Last night, I received an email that looks like it was an invoice from iTunes. Although I am an iTunes customer and have two accounts at the iTunes app store, I did not register my accounts with this particular email address, so that gave away the fact that this was a scam.

Besides, I have been reading about people saying that their credit cards linked to iTunes have been charged without their knowledge so any email from 'iTunes' is suspicious. Also, although I have two iTunes accounts, IO did not link any credit or debit card with my accounts. In addition, I only download free apps from the iTunes Store so how could I run up a bill to the tune of US$900? I trashed the mail.

My sister also received a similar email, and she unknowingly clicked on the link that was in the email. She said that because of that, her computer was infected with a virus that took technicians two hours to clear! She also called up Apple, who told her that the email was fake. Oh well, that's after clicking on the link!

If you receive an email from iTunes, better make sure that it's authentic. I'm sure you would know how many apps that you have downloaded from iTunes, and their prices, right?

Accutane Court Case

I am quite disturbed to read about the side effects that were caused by Accutane. you know, we take medicine to get better and not to get worse, or get some other life threatening medical condition. Did you know that Accutane is known to cause the very painful Crohn’s Disease? I have a friend who suffers from it and it really is extremely debilitating. I wonder if she ever was prescribed with Accutane before.

If you know of anyone who may be a victim of Accutane, please let him or her know about the free consultation that O’Hanlon, McCollum & Demerath offers. The team of lawyers there are experts in Accutane Lawsuit. They have been successful in Trasylol lawsuit recently too. By the way, Trasylol is a blood clotting drug that is used in heart surgeries.

Whether one has a case against the manufacturer of Accutane, expert lawyers at O’Hanlon, McCollum & Demerath will see if there can be a Accutane lawsuit on case by case basis.

eBay List Free Holiday

Good news if you are selling on eBay these holidays. eBay is running a promotion where eBay sellers who do not have a store subscription can sell for free from 28th September, 2010 until 7th January, 2011 for up to 100 items per month. Normally, eBay sellers can list for free for up to 100 items per month but these items have to have starting bid price of 99 cents or less. During this promotion, auctions can start from any bid price.

To qualify, like I said, eBay seller must not have a subscription with eBay Stores. All other sellers are eligible but those who have sold more than ten items need minimum DSR of at least 4.5. Items have to be listed auction-style with no reserve price. Of course, there are other terms and conditions as well, particularly restricted categories. For full details, you would have to check this eBay Page.
